1974 Triumph Spitfire Hemi Powered – This is a one of a kind, special built, Triumph Spitfire. It is built from the ground up, to accept a 270 cu-in DODGE – HEMI engine. A Borg Warner 5-speed transmission, and an 8-inch Ford limited slip differential. The frame and suspension were special built. The front suspension was built from Mustang II after market components. The rear suspension was built to accept the narrowed, 8-inchFord differential. It rides on air, front and rear, features an onboard compressor with electric solenoids, gauges and switches. Also features disc brakes on the front, and drum brakes on the rear. The body was altered to fit the frame and suspension, but it still maintains the basic Spitfire body lines. The hood and front end were modified to make it into a full front tilt system, allowing much wider access to the engine compartment. The convertible top was new when the car was built. This car sports 7x15 front Centerline wheels, with 215x50x15 tires. The rear 8.5x15 Centerlines with 225x50x15 tires. The tires themselves are BF Goodrich G-Force Sports with 75% tread remaining. The Hemi engine was rebuilt with mild performance cam. The headers were custom built and installed, with chrome, side pipe style exhaust. The intake manifold was also special built, in order to maintain a lower profile. The carburetor is a 600 cfm, four barrel Edelbrock. The flywheel, clutch and starter are all stock GM items. It also has an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The interior has been completely redone. The custom dash was made from Teakwood, from Kenya, Africa. It is reinforced with a steel back. The gauges are quality T.P.I Tech units, with remote programmable speedometer. Heated and cooled inside by a custom unit from southern air.
